- Describe the components of a fire alarm system and their functions.
- Classify occupancy types and their implications for FDAS design and installation.
- Outline the qualifications and roles of personnel involved in FDAS design, installation, and maintenance.
- Demonstrate the process of designing and planning a fire detection system, including proper detector placement and occupant notification methods.
- Explain the functions of controls and indicating equipment in an FDAS.
- Calculate NAC (Notification Appliance Circuit) power drop for effective system operation.
- Understand the requirements for Cause and Effects Matrix and System Documentation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
- Install, configure, and test both conventional and addressable FDAS components.
- Implement proper cabling techniques and protection measures for FDAS installation.
- Identify common DO’s and DON’T’s in FDAS installation to ensure compliance and system reliability.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and costing estimates for FDAS projects.
- Perform troubleshooting procedures to diagnose and rectify FDAS issues effectively.
- Execute regular maintenance tasks to ensure the continued functionality and reliability of FDAS installations.
