- Describe the structured cabling sub-system and its components, such as horizontal cabling, backbone cabling, and telecommunications rooms.
- Familiarize with structured cabling standards, such as TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC standards, and their importance in ensuring quality and interoperability.
- Consider factors affecting structured cabling design, including distance limitations, cable types, and environmental considerations.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for structured cabling projects, including cable types, connectors, patch panels, and other necessary components.
- Estimate project costs accurately, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Plan and execute structured cabling installation stages, including cable routing, termination, labeling, and testing.
- Perform hands-on practical exercises to develop skills in cable termination, patch panel installation, cable management, and testing.
- Understand the importance of business ethics for contractors, including professionalism, integrity, and customer relations.
- Apply ethical principles in dealing with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues throughout the project lifecycle.
